Radiocommunications Regulations (General User Radio Licence for Fixed Radio Link Devices) Notice 2015
Pursuant to section 111 of the Radiocommunications Act 1989 and Regulation 9 of the Radiocommunications Regulations 2001, and acting under delegated authority from the Chief Executive, I give the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Short title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Radiocommunications Regulations (General User Radio Licence for Fixed Radio Link Devices) Notice 2015.
(2) This notice comes into force on 21 April 2015.
2. Licence—
(1) Licence Name: | General User Radio Licence for Fixed Radio Link Devices (GURL-FRLD). |
(2) Licence: | Any person may transmit radio waves using Fixed Radio Link Devices, including those known as U-NII devices, using digital modulation techniques to typically provide high data rate fixed point-to-point communications for individuals, businesses and institutions, in accordance with the applicable terms, conditions and restrictions of this notice. |
(3) Licence number: | 248466 |
(4) Commencement date: | 21 April 2015. |

7. Consequential revocation of licence—(1) The Radiocommunications Regulations (General User Radio Licence for Fixed Radio Link Devices) Notice 2014, dated the 2nd day of October 2014 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 2 October 2014, No. 119, page 3338, is revoked.
(2) Notwithstanding the revocation of the notice under subsection (1), every transmitter capable of making transmissions compliant with the requirements of that notice on the commencement date of this notice is deemed to be compliant with the requirements of this notice.

Explanatory Note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice amends the provision to permit transmission in 5725-5850 MHz as well as provides clarifications to Special Conditions 1 and 2.
Persons intending to operate transmitters pursuant to this licence should familiarise themselves with the National Environment Standard issued under the Resource Management Act 1991 in regard to the effects of radiofrequency radiation.
