Notice of Application for Approval of a Scheme Under Part III of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957

In the High Court of New Zealand, Whanganui Registry:

In the matter of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957, and in the matter of an application by the FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST SCIENTIST (WANGANUI), a charitable trust incorporated pursuant to the Charitable Trusts Act 1957:

Notice is given that H. I. Broadhead, authorised by the members of the board of trustees of the FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST SCIENTIST (WANGANUI), has filed in the office of the High Court at Whanganui an application for approval of a scheme, under Part III of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957, as follows:

That the balance of the funds bequeathed to the board of trustees of the FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST SCIENTIST (WANGANUI), by Alice Josephine Best be distributed to the board of trustees of the FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST SCIENTIST (WANGANUI), for the purpose of maintenance and repairs to the church building and any such other charitable purpose relating to the FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST SCIENTIST (WANGANUI) as the board may select from time to time.

In the event that the board of trustees of the FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST SCIENTIST (WANGANUI) ceases to function, the balance of the funds bequeathed to the board of trustees of the FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST SCIENTIST (WANGANUI) by Alice Josephine Best be distributed to another First Church of Christ Scientist church in New Zealand.

Copies of this application may be inspected free of any charge at the office of the Registrar of the High Court at Whanganui or at the offices of the applicant, c/o Horsley Christie, Lawyers, 14 Victoria Avenue, Whanganui.

The application has been set down for hearing in the High Court at Whanganui on 6 August 2015 at 2.15pm.

Any person desiring to oppose the scheme is required to give notice of his or her intention to do so to the Registrar of the High Court at Whanganui and to H. I. Broadhead, c/o Horsley Christie, Lawyers, 14 Victoria Avenue (PO Box 655 or DX PA87021), Whanganui, not less than seven clear days before the above-mentioned date.
