In accordance with section 446 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, Maritime New Zealand, on behalf of the Minister of Transport, gives notice of the Minister’s intention to make the following maritime rules:

Maritime Rules Part 81: Revocation 2016

These rules propose the revocation of Maritime Rules Part 81: Commercial Rafting. These rules will transition commercial rafting operators from being audited by Maritime New Zealand into the adventure activities regime administered by WorkSafe New Zealand.

Comments are invited on the above-proposed maritime rules developed under the Maritime Transport Act 1994.

Submissions must be made online, by email, or by post by 31 March 2016.

The original consultation period has been extended and the previous notice detailing the close of submission date as 22 January 2016 is now obsolete.
