Pursuant to section 45 of the Maritime Security Act 2004, I, Renny VanderVeld, Manager, Maritime Security & Incident Response of Maritime New Zealand, acting under delegated authority, hereby designate the following areas and port facilities operated by Eastland Port at the Port of Gisborne as a port security area:

  • All that area of land and wharf contained within the fenced and sign-posted area of Wharf No. 4 within the boundary of the waterfront, the bilge pump fence, and the car park fence, but excluding the grass area at the south-west end, when within any fenced or secured area used to berth cruise or other vessels from time to time.

This designation comes into force on the day after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
