Pursuant to section 103 of the Land Transport Management Act 2003, the Chief Executive of the NZ Transport Agency gives notice that, with effect on and after 3 August 2015:

  1. Part of State Highway 2, described in the First Schedule, is revoked; and
  2. the sections of new road, described in the Second Schedule, are declared to be State highway.

First Schedule

Part of State Highway 2, commencing at the eastbound exit of the roundabout at the Domain Road junction with State Highway 2 (old) RP 164/6.12 extending in a generally south-easterly direction to (old) RP 180/8.65 at the southern boundary of Gulliver Road at its junction with State Highway 2. The length of road to be revoked is approximately 17.78 kilometres.

Second Schedule

  1. Part of Tauranga Eastern Link in Tauranga, commencing at (new) RP 164/5.78 at the eastbound exit of the roundabout at the Domain Road junction with State Highway 2 and extending in a generally south-easterly direction along the recently constructed Tauranga Eastern Link and ending at (new) RP 185/0.68 on the western side of the East Coast Main Trunk rail crossing on State Highway 2, Paengaroa; a total distance of about 15.98 kilometres.
  2. Part of road extending from the old intersection of State Highway 33 and State Highway 2 at existing RP 17/18.09 extending in a generally northerly direction to the end of the splitter island of the new Paengaroa roundabout at (new) RP 17/18.67. The length of this section of new State highway is approximately 0.58 kilometres.
