Notice of New and Altered Geographic Names, and Altered and Discontinued Crown Protected Area Names for Nga Mana Whenua o Tamaki Makaurau Collective Treaty of Waitangi Settlement 2014

Pursuant to sections 18, 49, 87, 102 and 103, and Schedule 6 clause 12, of the Nga Mana Whenua o Tamaki Makaurau Collective Redress Act 2014 ("Settlement Act 2014"), the New Zealand Geographic Board Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa ("Board") hereby gives notice of six new and 14 altered geographic names, and two altered and one discontinued Crown Protected Area (CPA) names.
Schedule 1 below specifies the details of the new geographic names; their geographic feature types and their descriptions.
Schedule 2 below specifies the details of the altered geographic names; their geographic feature types; their descriptions; and their former names.
Schedule 3 below specifies the details of the altered CPA names; their generic terms; their descriptions; and their former CPA names.
Schedule 4 below specifies the details of the discontinued CPA name; its generic term; its description; and its former
New Zealand Gazette.
The official geographic and CPA names took effect on 29 August 2014, being the effective date of the Settlement Act 2014.
Pursuant to section 104 of the Settlement Act 2014, the Board may in the future agree to alter any official geographic name, as listed in Schedules 1 and 2 below, with the consent of the trustees of the Tupuna Taonga o Tamaki Makaurau Trust Limited.
