Notice of Final Determinations to Alter Official Geographic Names

Pursuant to sections 19 and 21(2) of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008, the
New Zealand Geographic Board Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa ("Board") hereby gives notice of the final determinations to alter existing geographic names.
The altered geographic names are now official geographic names and are specified in the first column of the Schedule below ("Schedule").
The geographic feature type that each altered official geographic name relates to is set out in the second column of the Schedule below.
The description of each altered official geographic name is set out in the third column of the Schedule below.
The Board's final determinations on these official geographic names took effect on 28 August 2014.

Tindale Creek Creek A small tributary of Maruia River, less than 1km long, that crosses under State Highway 7 approximately 2km west of Lewis Pass. NZTopo50 BT23 487078 (source) to 487088 (confluence). Alteration from Tindall Creek (official geographic name) and replacing

Southland Land District
Makere Basin Basin 44ø37.776'S Latitude, 167ø52.925'E Longitude. A large depression in the sea floor with a maximum depth of 294m located within part of Milford Sound / Piopiotahi, Fiordland. Alteration from Stirling Basin (recorded name). Depicted on Milford Sound Chart¸, Irwin, 1985, Chart NZ 7621 and NZTopo50 CA08 and NZTopo50 CB08.
Tutoko Basin Basin 46ø05.489'S Latitude, 166ø42.254'E Longitude. A depression in the sea floor with a maximum depth of 167m located between Weka or Long Island and the locality of Cromarty in Preservation Inlet, Fiordland. Alteration from Cromarty Basin (recorded name). Depicted on Preservation Inlet (Southern Sheet) Chart¸, Irwin
& Main, 1982, Chart NZ 7654 and NZTopo50 CF05.
