Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Director, Conservation Partnerships, South and Eastern South Island Region of the Department of Conservation, appoints the Yellow-Eyed Penguin Trust to control and manage the Government purpose (wildlife sanctuary) reserve described in the Schedule.
