Notice is hereby given, under section 54 of the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011, that the Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery proposes to take the land described in the Schedule to this notice.
The exercise of this power is in accordance with section 10 of that Act.
The land is required for the implementation of the Christchurch Central Recovery Plan and it is intended to use the land for the purposes of the Metro Sports Facility.
The reasons why the Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery considers it necessary to take the land are as follows:
(a) The Metro Sports Facility is an integral part of the Christchurch Central Recovery Plan;
(b) the land described in the Schedule to this notice has been identified as the most appropriate location for the Metro Sports Facility; and
(c) the Metro Sports Facility cannot be properly constructed and operated without all interests in the land being acquired.
The owner of the land has been served with a notice of intention to take land.
Any person requiring further information in respect of this matter should contact The Property Group (the Crown's Agent acquiring the land) by telephone on (03) 363 5901, or by email at CCDU@propertygroup.co.nz
