Pursuant to section 36E of the Securities Markets Act 1988, the Minister of Commerce on 10 July 2014 approved an exemption from section 36L(1)(b) of the Securities Markets Act 1988 for a new market, which is targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises, to be operated by NZX Limited, as contained in the Securities Markets Act (NZX-New Market) Exemption Notice 2014.
