Consultation on Urgent Changes to the Acceptable Solutions and Verification Method for Building Code Clauses C1-C6 Protection From Fire
Pursuant to sections 29(5) and 30 of the Building Act 2004,
I give notice of consultation on urgent amendments that were made to the Acceptable Solutions C/AS1-C/AS7 and Verification Method C/VM2 for the New Zealand Building Code Clauses C1-C6 Protection from Fire on 19 December 2013.
Pursuant to sections 30, 406(c)(ii) and 409(2) of the Act,
I give notice of consultation on urgent amendments to the material incorporated by reference into Acceptable Solutions C/AS1-C/AS7 and Verification Method C/VM2 effective on 19 December 2013, namely, that reference to
NZS 4541:2007 A1 is replaced by NZS 4541:2013, and that
AS 4254:2012 is incorporated by reference into Verification Method C/VM2.
This consultation is carried out in accordance with section 30(1)(a) of the Act, for the purposes of making a final decision on the urgent amendments to the Acceptable Solutions C/AS1-C/AS7 and Verification Method C/VM2 for the New Zealand Building Code Clauses C1-C6 Protection from Fire on 19 December 2013.
Further Proposed Amendments to Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods
Pursuant to section 29 of the Building Act 2004, I give notice that the following acceptable solutions and verification method are proposed to be amended:
Building Code Clauses C1-C6 Protection from Fire
- Acceptable Solutions C/AS1-C/AS7
- Verification Method C/VM2
Back Country Huts
- Acceptable Solution BCH/AS1
The Statement of Proposal for the changes to the Acceptable Solutions and Verification Method can be downloaded free of charge from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment ("Ministry") website

The Statement of Proposal is also available from the Wellington office of the Ministry at Level 1, 33 Bowen Street, Wellington, between the hours of 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
