Notice of Intention to Apply for Revocation of Approved Codes of Practice
Under section 20A of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, WorkSafe New Zealand intends to apply to the Minister of Workplace Relations and Safety for approval of the revocation of three Approved Codes of Practice.
The three Approved Codes of Practice are:
The Approved Code of Practice for the Design, Safe Operation, Maintenance and Servicing of Boilers (1st Edition)* has been superseded by a second edition Approved Code of Practice of the same name.
The Approved Code of Practice for the Management of Noise in the Workplace (1st Edition)† has been superseded by a second edition Approved Code of Practice of the same name.
The Approved Code of Practice for the Safe Use of Timber Preservatives and Antisapstain Chemicals‡ has been superseded by the Best Practice Guidelines for the Safe Use of Timber Preservatives and Antisapstain Chemicals.
If you wish to make a submission on the proposed revocation of any or all of the above Approved Codes of Practice you may do so by filling in the submission form available on Worksafe New Zealand’s website at
www.business.govt.nz/worksafe/about/who-we-work-with/consultation/open-for-consultation
The consultation period for the proposal to revoke the Approved Codes of Practice closes on Friday 21 November 2014.
