Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:
- 2 from Maritime Rules 21.13(1)(b) - Safe Ship Management Systems - Ships which do not proceed beyond restricted limits, fishing ships, and ships of less that 45 metres in length are not required to comply with section 1 - Entry to and conditions to be met in order to remain in Safe Ship Management System - New Zealand Safe Ship Management Certificate issued by Director
- 1 from Maritime Rules 21.13(2)(a)(ii) - Safe Ship Management Systems - Ships which do not proceed beyond restricted limits, fishing ships, and ships of less that 45 metres in length are not required to comply with section 1 - Certificate issued by surveyor dated not more than 12 months prior to date of ship's entry into approved safe ship management system which states permitted operating limits assigned to that ship
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31A.13, Table 3 - Crewing and Watchkeeping Unlimited Offshore, and Coastal (Non-Fishing Vessels) - Ship types - Tankers - Unlimited area - Requirements for ships operating in the unlimited area to carry engine room watchkeepers specified in Table 3
