Notice of the Final Determination on Assigning an Official Antarctic Geographic Name

Pursuant to sections 10(1)(a), 25 and 21(2) of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008, the New Zealand Geographic Board Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa ("Board") hereby gives notice of assigning an official Antarctic geographic name.
The official geographic name is specified in the first column of the Schedule below.
The geographic feature type that it relates to is set out in the second column of the Schedule.
The description for the name is set out in the third column of the Schedule.
The Board's final determination on this official Antarctic geographic name takes effect on 3 October 2013.

Sanson Ridge Ridge 77.7929øS Latitude, 160.3495øE Longitude to 77.7655øS Latitude, 160.7912øE Longitude. A distinctive ridge starting at the head of Kennar Valley, spot height 2259m, descending generally north-easterly for approximately 7km to contour height 1800m, then generally easterly for approximately 4km to the summit of Finger Mountain, then generally south-easterly for approximately 4km to spot
height 1146m. The ridge follows Turnabout Valley and Turnabout Glacier to the south and overlooks Taylor Glacier to the north. Topographic maps Antarctic NZTopo50-MF07 - Quartermain Mountains and USGS Reconnaissance ST57-60/5 - Taylor Glacier. New name for a previously unnamed feature.
