Notice of Decisions to Alter Undersea Feature Names

Pursuant to sections 25 and 21(2) of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008, the
New Zealand Geographic Board Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa ("Board") hereby gives notice of altered undersea feature names beyond New Zealand's 12 Nautical Mile Territorial Sea.
The details of the altered undersea feature names, their undersea generic feature types, and their descriptions are specified
in the three columns of the Schedule below.
The Board's final determinations on these undersea features names took effect on 29 August 2013.

Mahia Seamount Seamount 39ø40.00'S Latitude, 179ø15.00'E Longitude. An isolated seamount in the Hikurangi Trough 1100km east south-east of Mahia Peninsula. Rises from a depth of 3400m to about 2250m. Depicted on Cook Chart¸, Baldwin & Lewis, 1991. Alteration from Mahia Seamount.
Te Kuri-a-Paoa Seamount Seamount 39ø27.06'S Latitude, 179ø55.35'E Longitude. An elongated seamount with a rounded profile on the margin of the Hikurangi Plateau approximately 160km east south-east of Mahia Peninsula. Rises to 2170m from a depth of 3500m and has an area of 400km2. Depicted on Cook Chart¸, Baldwin & Lewis, 1991. Alteration from Young Nicks Seamount.
Turanganui Knoll Knoll 39ø02.17'S Latitude, 179ø19.53'E Longitude. A round-topped knoll on the margin of the Hikurangi Plateau approximately 100km east south-east of Gisborne. This is an isolated seamount which rises to 2740m from a depth of 3600m and has an area of 158km2. Depicted on Cook Chart¸, Baldwin & Lewis, 1991. Alteration from Gisborne Knolls.
