Pursuant to sections 156 of the Education Act 1989, I hereby give notice that Te Kura o Te Paroa will change from a mainstream school to become a designated character school from 1 April 2013.
The designated character of Te Kura o Te Paroa is:
- provision of an education environment to cater for each child as an individual and to encourage each child to realise their full potential;
- development of students’ knowledge of Ngati Awatanga and strengthen relationships and connections with whanau, hapu and iwi;
- nurturing of students in mind, body and spirit; and
- development of 21st century learners capable of engaging with local community and the wider world.
