Pursuant to section 65ZD of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance makes the following statement:
"On the 8th day of July 2013 I, The Honourable
Simon William English, Minister of Finance, on
behalf of the Crown, gave an indemnity to Airways Corporation of New Zealand Limited (Airways) in relation to its contract with the New Zealand Defence Force for the provision of air traffic control services. The indemnity relates to any claim brought against Airways by third parties arising from military flight operations undertaken by the Royal New Zealand
Air Force, and is effective from the date of the contract."
The indemnity provided to Airways on 28 June 2013 by the Acting Minister of Finance was revoked on the date this statement of indemnity was signed.
