Pursuant to section 5(2) of the Research, Science, and Technology Act 2010, the following Research, Science, and Technology (RS&T) funding in the votes administered by the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment is subject to a separate decision-making process:
(a) Biological Industries Research Funding and High Value Manufacturing and Services Research Funding that is allocated in accordance with Commercialisation and Technology Support, Objective 1 (which includes the National Network of Commercialisation Centres initiative and the Pre-Seed Accelerator Fund initiative).
(b) Building Innovation Potential.
(c) Business Research and Development Contract Management.
(d) Callaghan Innovation Strategic Investment.
(e) Crown Research Institute Core Funding.
(f) Engaging New Zealanders with Science and Technology.
(g) Environmental Research funding that is allocated using the Envirolink investment mechanism.
(h) Fellowships for Excellence (which includes Rutherford Discovery Fellowships and Fulbright Fellowships).
(i) Health and Society Research Funding that is allocated by The Health Research Council of New Zealand.
(j) Marsden Fund.
(k) National Measurement Standards.
(l) Realising the Benefits of Innovation.
(m) Repayable Grants for Start-Ups.
(n) Research Contract Management.
(o) Vision Matauranga Capability Fund.
(p) Advanced Network Capacity.
(q) Australian Synchrotron.
(r) Convention Du Metre.
(s) International Relationships.
(t) National e-Science Infrastructure.
(u) Royal Society of New Zealand.
(v) Science Collections and Infrastructure.
(w) Genomics Research Infrastructure.
(x) Advanced Technology Institute.
(y) Research and Development Growth Grants.
(z) Targeted Business Research and Development Funding.
(aa) All RS&T funding in a vote other than Vote Science and Innovation.
This notice supersedes and revokes the notice entitled "RS&T Funding Subject to a Separate Decision-making Process" published in the New Zealand Gazette, 15 December 2011, No. 193, page 5660; revokes
"(q) Environmental Research Funding that is allocated using the Envirolink investment mechanism"
in the notice entitled "Amendments to the Notice to the Innovation Board Setting Criteria for Assessing Proposals for Specified Research, Science, and Technology Funding and the Notice of RS&T Funding Subject to a Separate Decision-making Process" published in the New Zealand Gazette, 18 October 2012, No. 126, page 3665; and revokes the notice entitled "Amendments to the Notice of Research, Science, and Technology Funding Subject to a Separate Decision-making Process" published in the New Zealand Gazette, 31 January 2013, No. 11, page 382.
This notice comes into effect on 1 July 2013.
