Consultation on Proposal to Incorporate Material by Reference into Regulations Made Under the Crown Minerals Act 1991

The Chief Executive of the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment gives notice that, subject to the enactment of the Crown Minerals (Permitting and Crown Land) Bill, it is proposed that material be incorporated by reference into Regulations made under the Crown Minerals Act 1991.
For Regulations that relate to petroleum, it is proposed that the following materials be incorporated by reference:
- Regulation SX 4-10 of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission titled "Financial Reporting for Oil and Gas Producing Activities Pursuant to the Federal Securities Laws and The Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1975".
- The "Petroleum Resources Management System" sponsored by the Society of Petroleum Engineers,
the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the World Petroleum Council, and the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers.
For Regulations that relate to minerals other than petroleum, it is proposed that the following materials be incorporated by reference:
- The "JORC Code" (2012 Edition) prepared by the Joint Ore Reserves Committee of The Australasian Institute
of Mining and Metallurgy, Australian Institute of Geoscientists and Minerals Council of Australia.
- The Canadian "National Instrument 43-101 Standards of Disclosure of Mineral Projects" that came into effect
on 30 June 2011.
- The "South African Code for the Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves" (2007 Edition), as amended July 2009.
The proposed material is available for inspection from 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, free of charge, at the head office of the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment at 33 Bowen Street, Wellington.
