Pursuant to section 11 of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 ("Act"), the Electricity Authority gives the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Title and commencement-(1) This notice is the Electricity Industry (Exemption No. 188 (AccuCal Limited)) Exemption Notice 2013.
(2) This notice comes into force on the day after the date it is notified in the New Zealand Gazette.
2. Exemption-AccuCal Limited ("AccuCal") is exempted from complying with clause 1(1)(a) of Schedule 10.5 of
the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 ("Code") in respect of providing its initial metering equipment provider ("MEP") audit by 28 February 2014.
3. Term-This exemption expires at the close of 30 April 2014.
4. Reasons for granting the exemption-The reasons for granting this exemption are:
(a) granting the exemption meets the requirements in section 11(2) of the Act for granting exemptions;
(b) by conducting its initial MEP audit at the same time as its authorised test house audit, AccuCal will
avoid compliance costs and will minimise disruption to staff involved in audit reviews;
(c) once the exemption expires, the timing of AccuCal's next MEP audit will be calculated from the date of the MEP audit completed during the period of the exemption; and
(d) the exemption will have little or no impact on other participants and service providers, and will not affect any other Code provisions.
