Notice of Exemption From Maritime Rules: 21.13(1)(b); 31A.13; 31A.13, Table 3; 31B.5; 31B.13; 31B.13, Table 5; 31B.14, Table 6; 46.17(1)(b)

Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:
- 2 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(b) - Safe Ship Management Systems - Entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management System - New Zealand Safe Ship Management Certificate
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31A.13 - Crewing and Watchkeeping Unlimited Offshore, and Coastal (Non-Fishing Vessels) - Ship types - Unlimited area
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31A.13, Table 3 - Crewing and Watchkeeping Unlimited Offshore, and Coastal (Non-Fishing Vessels) - Ship types - Unlimited area - ships operating in unlimited area must carry at least the engine room watchkeepers specified in Table 3
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31B.5 - Crewing and Watchkeeping Offshore, Coastal and Restricted (Non-Fishing Vessels) - General - Equivalent certificates - requirement for person who holds a specific certificate of competency to be carried on board a vessel
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31B.13 - Crewing and Watchkeeping Offshore, Coastal and Restricted (Non-Fishing Vessels) - Non-passenger vessels - Coastal area - requirements for non-passenger vessels operating in coastal area
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31B.13, Table 5 - Crewing and Watchkeeping Offshore, Coastal and Restricted (Non-Fishing Vessels) - Non-passenger vessels - Coastal area - non-passenger vessels operating in the coastal area must carry seafarers holding minimum qualifications and minimum crew specified in Table 5
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31B.14, Table 6 - Crewing and Watchkeeping Offshore, Coastal and Restricted (Non-Fishing Vessels) - Non-passenger vessels - Inshore area - non-passenger vessels operating within the inshore area limits must carry seafarers holding minimum qualifications and minimum crew specified in table 6
- 1 from Maritime Rule 46.17(1)(b) - Surveys, Certification and Maintenance - Ships which do not proceed beyond restricted limits, fishing ships, and ships less than 45 metres in length that are not required to comply with section 1 - Inspections - propeller shafts and rudder stocks with water lubricated bearings at intervals not exceeding four years
