Notice of Exemption From Maritime Rules: 21.13(1)(b); 40A.33(2)(e); 40C.29(2)(e); 40D.68(1), Appendix 3.3; 42.37(1)(a); 42A.15(3)(a) and (b); 43.15; 46.11(1); 46.17(1)(b); 47.65(5); 90.23(2)(a); 90.41(1)(d)

Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:
- 3 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(b) - Safe Ship Management Systems - Entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management System - New Zealand Safe Ship Management Certificate issued by Director
- 2 from Maritime Rule 40A.33(2)(e) - Design, Construction and Equipment - Passenger Ships which are not SOLAS Ships - Machinery - Petrol inboard and outboard engines - Ship fitted with one outboard engine as main source of propulsion, if proceeding beyond enclosed waters, must have auxiliary engine of sufficient power to enable ship to return safely to port or a safe haven
- 2 from Maritime Rule 40C.29(2)(e) - Design, Construction and Equipment - Passenger Ships that are not SOLAS Ships - Machinery - Petrol inboard and outboard engines - Auxiliary outboard engine of sufficient power for safe return to port or safe haven
- 1 from Maritime Rule 40D.68(1), Appendix 3.3 - Design, Construction and Equipment - Fishing Ships - Radiocommunications equipment - Owner and master of ship must ensure radiocommunications equipment provided in accordance with Appendix 3 - Ships that proceed beyond offshore limits
- 1 from Maritime Rule 42.37(1)(a) - Safety Equipment - Life-Saving Appliances - Performance Maintenance and Servicing - Maintenance, inspections and servicing - Servicing of inflatable liferafts at intervals of not more than
12 months at an approved servicing station
- 1 from Maritime Rule 42A.15(3)(a) and (b) - Safety Equipment - Life-Saving Appliances - Performance, Maintenance and Servicing - Survival craft and rescue boats - Non-SOLAS rescue boats - Any required non-SOLAS rescue boat must be fitted with a protective stowage cover and be capable of being righted by not more than two persons when inverted in water
- 1 from Maritime Rule 43.15 - Radio - Performance Standards - MF/HF radio (voice communication, narrow-band direct printing and DSC) - Compliance with performance standards adopted by IMO Resolution A.613(5), and Resolution A.806(19)
- 2 from Maritime Rule 46.11(1) - Surveys, Certification and Maintenance - SOLAS ships and ships of 45 metres or more in length that proceed beyond restricted limits - Inspection of the outside of the ship's bottom must be undertaken with the ship out of the water
- 1 from Maritime Rule 46.17(1)(b) - Surveys, Certification and Maintenance - Ships which do not proceed beyond restricted limits, fishing ships, and ships less than 45 metres in length that are not required to comply with section 1 -Inspections - Propeller shafts and rudder stocks with water lubricated bearings at intervals not exceeding four years
- 1 from Maritime Rule 47.65(5) - Load Lines - Ships of less than 24 metres in length - Conditions of assignment - Provision of minimum freeing port area on each side of the ship in each well
- 1 from Maritime Rule 90.23(2)(a) - Pilotage - Pilotage requirements to carry a pilot - Master of any ship, other than an oil tanker, chemical tanker or gas carrier, that meets or exceeds any limits specified for a pilotage area must ensure that the ship, when navigating in that pilotage area carries a pilot who holds a current, appropriate pilot licence
