Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate those powers under section 16 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to Maritime New Zealand by an instrument of delegation dated 19 March 1997.
And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, Maritime New Zealand did delegate those powers under section 16 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime New Zealand by an instrument of delegation dated December 2010.
Therefore I, Keith Manch, Director of Maritime
New Zealand, hereby appoint the following persons to be protection officers under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996, and in association with the Transpower Cook Strait helicopter patrol service:
Kurtis Smyth, of Wellington.
Allan Grant Russell, of Wellington.
Nathan Cameron McCrorie, of Wellington.
This notice comes into force on the day after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
