Approved Maritime Surveillance Equipment Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996

Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate those powers under section 35 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to Maritime New Zealand by an instrument of delegation dated 19 March 1997.
And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, Maritime New Zealand did delegate those powers under section 35 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime New Zealand by an instrument of delegation dated 15 and 17 January 2008.
Therefore I, Keith Manch, Director of Maritime New Zealand, hereby approve the following equipment to be approved maritime surveillance equipment for the purposes of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996:
Approved Maritime Surveillance Equipment
- Charting computer HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF PC, Intel 15-2400 CPU@3.10Ghz, Operating system Windows
7 Professional - for use on the patrol vessel contracted to Transpower in Area 7 - Cook Strait.
- Canon PowerShot D20 camera, Serial # 455050002301 - for use in Cook Strait environs on patrol vessels and ashore
in connection with Transpower in Area 7 - Cook Strait.
- Plotting software MaxSea TimeZero ECS Version 2.0.2. License FA66 977F B510 ACFZ-EA - for use on the patrol vessel contracted to Transpower in Area 7 - Cook Strait.
This notice comes into force on the day after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
