Notice of Exemption From Maritime Rules: 20.6; 21.13(1)(b); 31A.7(1); 31B.14(1)(a), Table 6; 31C.9(a) and (b); 31C.9(a), Table 2; 32.19D(1)(b); 40A.56(1), Appendix 4.3; 40A.58; 40C, Appendix 3.3, section (3)(d) and (e); 46.17(1)(a); 40C.72(1); 40C.78(2)(b); 40C.80(b); 45.10(1)(a); 46.24(3)

Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:
- 1 from Maritime Rule 20.6 - Operating Limits - Assigning operating limits and operating within assigned limits - Owner and master of a ship are required to operate within assigned limits
- 2 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(b) - Safe Ship Management Systems - Entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management System - New Zealand Safe Ship Management Certificate issued by Director
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31A.7(1) - Crewing and Watchkeeping Unlimited Offshore, and Coastal (Non-fishing Vessels) - Minimum safe crewing - General requirements - Owner and master of a ship must not operate that ship unless there is on board at least the minimum number of crew holding necessary qualifications for watchkeeping, to operate ship safely and comply with the Minimum Safe Crewing Document
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31B.14(1)(a), Table 6 - Crewing and Watchkeeping Offshore Coastal and Restricted (Non-fishing Vessel) - Non-passenger vessels - Inshore area - Seafarers holding the minimum required qualifications specified in Table 6 for non-passenger vessel operating within the inshore limits set out in Appendix 1 of Part 20

- 1 from Maritime Rule 40C, Appendix 3.3, section (3)(d) and (e) - Design, Construction and Equipment - Non-passenger Ships that are not SOLAS Ships - Life-saving appliances - Restricted coastal and restricted limit shapes - Ships not proceeding beyond restricted limits must carry either buoyant apparatus or lifebuoys
