Pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992,
full recognition for the New Zealand Engineering Food and Manufacturing Industry Training Organisation Incorporated (trading as Competenz) has been granted for a period of
five years, with effect from 1 May 2013 to 1 May 2018, to set standards at Levels 1-8 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework for the forest industries (forest establishment, silviculture, harvesting, solid wood processing, wood panel manufacturing, and pulp and paper); the biosecurity
(border quarantine) industry covering Ministry for Primary Industries staff engaged in border quarantine activities including international cargo clearances, international vessel clearances, international aircraft clearances and international mail clearances, and the furniture industries (wooden and upholstered furniture, furniture finishing (polishing), bedding manufacture and metal furniture).
