Notification of Ordinary Rules

Pursuant to section 161(3) of the Land Transport Act 1998, notification is hereby given of the making of eight Rules that amend Land Transport Rules.
The amendment Rules, which were consulted on in Land Transport Rule: Agricultural Vehicles Omnibus 2012, are:
- Land Transport (Driver Licensing) Amendment Rule 2013 (Rule 91001/10)
- Land Transport Rule: Heavy Vehicles Amendment 2013 (Rule 31002/6)
- Land Transport (Road User) Amendment Rule 2013 (Rule 61001/8)
- Land Transport Rule: Tyres and Wheels Amendment 2013 (Rule 32013/6)
- Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Dimensions and Mass Amendment 2013 (Rule 41001/8)
- Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Lighting Amendment 2013 (Rule 32005/7)
- Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Standards Compliance Amendment 2013 (Rule 35001/10)
- Land Transport Rule: Work Time and Logbooks Amendment 2013 (Rule 62001/6)
The aim of the Rule changes is to ensure that legislation that affects the primary production sector is fit for purpose and does not impose unnecessary costs or restrictions, including on the ability of the sector to manage critical agricultural operations where time or the weather is a limiting factor.
These amendment Rules come into force on 1 June 2013.
They are available for inspection free of charge at the National Office of the NZ Transport Agency, 50 Victoria Street, Wellington, and at the NZ Transport Agency’s regional offices.
