Pursuant to clauses 18.2 and 18.6 of the Special Needs Grants Programme (as established and approved on
18 December 1998* under section 124(1)(d) of the
Social Security Act 1964) (the programme), I give my approval for Part 6 of the programme to apply as follows:
Rural Assistance
1. Farmers whose primary industries-
(a) are situated in the North Island of New Zealand; and
(b) are (or are primarily) kiwifruit growing; and
(c) have vines that are infected by the Pseudomonas syringae pv.actinidinae virus,-
are eligible to be considered for grants of assistance under Part 6 of the programme if they apply for that assistance within a period of 12 months commencing
on the day on which the Minister of Primary Industries declares the Pseudomonas syringae pv.actinidinae virus to be a biosecurity event under the Primary Sector Recovery Policy as agreed by the Government in June 2012.
2 In respect of any such farmer, Part 6 of the programme applies for a period of one year commencing on the date of the farmer’s application for assistance.
