Notice that the Acting Minister of Labour has approved amendments to a Code of Practice pursuant to section 20(1)(a) of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992.
The fifth edition of the Approved Code of Practice for
Load-Lifting Rigging sets out a statement of preferred work practices or arrangements, and provides recommendations and procedures for safe practice while carrying out lifting and rigging work in industry.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment has consulted widely with members of industry and the public to prepare the amendments to the approved code.
The approved code will come into effect six months after publication of this notice to allow for a transition period.
The commencement date is 21 May 2013.
The approved code will be available from the Ministry
by 1 February 2013.
