In accordance with section 261B(3) of the Local Government Act 2002, the Secretary for Local Government intends to make a rule specifying performance measures
for the groups of activities of:
- water supply
- sewerage and the treatment and disposal of sewage
- stormwater drainage
- flood protection and control works; and
- the provision of roads and footpaths.
The purpose of the performance measures is to enable the public to compare the level of service provided for each group of activities by different local authorities.
The secretary is now consulting on a set of draft performance measures.
