Pursuant to section 24 of the Crown Minerals Act 1991, the Ministry of Economic Development invites staged work programme bids for exploration permits for metallic minerals onshore in New Zealand’s Northland region.
This competitive tender is referred to as "Northland 2012".

The closing date for receipt of bids for Northland 2012 is 4.30pm on 7 December 2012.

Before preparing and submitting a bid, bidders are encouraged to familiarise themselves with New Zealand’s legislation, regulations and policy for the allocation and administration of mineral permits, contained primarily
in the Crown Minerals Act 1991, the Crown Minerals (Minerals) Regulations 2007 and the Minerals Programme for Minerals (Excluding Petroleum) 2008.
