Notice Title

Notice of Initiation: Review of Anti-dumping Duty on Wire Nails From the People’s Republic of China

Pursuant to section 14(8) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 ("the Act"), and acting under delegated authority from the Chief Executive of
the Ministry of Economic Development, I have, on my
own initiative, initiated a review of the imposition of
anti-dumping duty in respect of the goods described in
the Schedule to this notice (the goods).
The purpose of the review is to:
(a) determine whether the New Zealand nail industry produces nails that are "like" certain specialised nails imported into New Zealand and therefore whether those nails should be exempted from the applicable anti-dumping duty; and
(b) exempt certain other types of specialised nails
from the applicable anti-dumping duty that the New Zealand nail industry has agreed should be exempted from this duty.
Anti-dumping duty was imposed on the goods following a final determination made on 2 June 2011.
Notice of this final determination was published in the
New Zealand Gazette, 9 June 2011, No. 81, page 1905.
Dated at Wellington this 4th day of April 2012.
HON JOHN BANKS, CNZM, QSO, Associate Minister of Commerce.
