Pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992, the Primary Industry Training Organisation Incorporated (previously recognised as the Agriculture Industry Training Organisation Inc) has been granted recognition for the agricultural, animal care and handling, rural servicing, water and (pursuant to section 8 of the Industry Training Act 1992) provisional recognition for the florist, horticulture, and sports turf industries, until 22 June 2014 and recognition for the equine industry until 22 December 2016 with effect from 1 October 2012; to set standards at Levels 1 to 8
on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework for the agricultural, animal care and handling, equine, florist, horticulture, rural servicing, sports turf, and water industries.
