Pursuant to section 11 of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 ("Act"), the Electricity Authority gives the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Title and commencement-(1) This notice is the Electricity Industry (Exemption No. 143 (TrustPower Limited)) Exemption Notice 2012.
(2) This notice comes into force on 16 September 2012.
2. Exemption-(1) TrustPower Limited ("TrustPower") is exempted from compliance with clause 10.3(b) of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 ("Code") and clause 11 of Schedule 15.3 of the Code.
(2) This exemption only applies to installation control point 0007116229RN993.
3. Term-This exemption expires on the date on which the Electricity Industry Participation (Metering Arrangements) Code Amendment 2011 comes into force.
4. Reasons for granting the exemption-The reasons for granting this exemption are:
(a) granting the exemption meets the requirements in section 11 of the Act for granting exemptions;
(b) the metering installation will not fit in the existing access panel and fuse box and TrustPower will incur significant costs to install another access panel that may be passed to the customer;
(c) TrustPower will incur significant ongoing compliance costs associated with a distributed unmetered load database for low consumption;
(d) the load is static and will have little annual variation. Most changes for load are changes that can be accurately tracked;
(e) the exemption will have little or no impact on other participants and service providers, and will not affect any other Code provisions; and
(f) TrustPower has stated that it will treat the load as standard unmetered load and record the information in the registry.
