Notice of the Electricity Industry Participation (Minor Amendments) Code Amendment 2012

1. Pursuant to section 38(3)(b) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 ("Act"), the Electricity Authority ("Authority") gives notice of the making of the Electricity Industry Participation (Minor Amendments) Code Amendment 2012.
2. The amendment comes into force on 21 September 2012.
3. The amendment makes various minor amendments to the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 ("Code") including:
(a) replacing the term "extended emergency situation" with "EMP departure situation" to more accurately reflect the meaning of the term;
(b) more clearly describing the purpose of the system security forecast prepared by the system operator;
(c) clarifying timeframes and dates;
(d) amending the requirements for approval as a class A approved test house; and
(e) correcting various typographical errors and inaccurate cross-references.
4. In accordance with section 39(3)(a) of the Act, the Authority is satisfied that the amendment is technical and non-controversial, and therefore the Authority has not prepared and publicised a regulatory statement or consulted on the amendment and the regulatory statement.
