Notice of Exemption from Maritime Rules: 21.13(1)(a); 21.13(1)(b); 31B.13, Table 5; 31B.15, Table 8; 31C.9, Table 2; 32.25(d)(i); 32.25(d)(ii); 35.4(2)(b)(ii); 40A, Appendix 7, Table 2(c), note 5; 40A.9(2); 40A.9(3); 40A.12(2); 40B.4(b); 40C.12(1)(a); 40C.12(3)(a); 40C.29(2)(e); 40C.51(1), Appendix 2.3; 40C.52(1), Appendix 3.2(2)(a); 46.17(1)(a); 47.8(2)(e)

Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:
- 2 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(a) - Safe Ship Management Systems - Entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management System - Ship belongs to an organisation’s approved safe ship management system
- 9 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(b) - Safe Ship Management Systems - Entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management System - New Zealand Safe Ship Management Certificate issued by Director
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31B.13, Table 5 - Crewing and Watchkeeping. Offshore, Coastal and Restricted (Non-Fishing Vessels) - Non-passenger vessel - Enclosed area - Seafarers holding the minimum required qualifications specified in Table 8 for non-passenger vessels operating within the enclosed area
- 2 from Maritime Rule 31B.15, Table 8 - Crewing and Watchkeeping. Offshore, Coastal and Restricted (Non-Fishing Vessels) - Non-passenger vessel - Enclosed area - Seafarers holding the minimum required qualifications specified in Table 8 for non-passenger vessels operating within the enclosed area
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31C.9, Table 2 - Crewing and Watchkeeping Fishing Vessels - Fishing vessels operating in unlimited area must carry at least seafarers holding minimum required qualifications specified in Table 2
- 1 from Maritime Rule 32.25(d)(i) - Ships’ Personnel - Qualifications - Certificates of competency and certificates of proficiency - Engineer officer certificates - Marine engineer class 2 - Provide evidence of having satisfactorily attended and completed a training course

- 1 from Maritime Rule 40C.12(3)(a) - Design, Construction and Equipment - Non-Passenger Ships that are not SOLAS Ships - Subdivision and stability - Doorways and other access openings must not be fitted in the collision bulkhead below the freeboard deck, except that in ships of 20 metres in length overall or less, a surveyor may permit a single watertight manhole
