Pursuant to section 16 of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008 ("the Act"), notice was given in the New Zealand Gazette, 26 August 2010, No. 108, page 2905, of a proposal by the New Zealand Geographic Board Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa ("the Board"), to alter a geographic name.
A submission received on the proposed geographic name was dealt with by the Board according to section 18 of the Act.
The Board hereby declares its final determination, made pursuant to section 19 of the Act, and hereby gives notice pursuant to section 21(2) of the Act, of the final determination to assign a geographic name.
The geographic name is now an official geographic name and is specified in the first column of the Schedule below.
The geographic feature type that the geographic name relates to, is set out in the second column of the Schedule.
The description of the geographic name is set out in the third column of the Schedule.
The Board’s final determination on this geographic name takes effect on 9 June 2011.
