In the matter of the Law Practitioners Act 1982, and in the matter of the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006:
Pursuant to section 119 of the Law Practitioners Act 1982, notice is hereby given that on 7 February 2011, the Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal ordered as follows:
THAT:
1. Kenneth Michael Daniels be suspended from practice as a barrister and solicitor for a period of three years from 7 February 2011.
2. The practitioner is ordered to pay compensation to the complainant in the sum of $5,000.00.
3. The practitioner is censured.
4. The practitioner is ordered to pay the sum of $40,000.00 to the New Zealand Law Society.
AND further as a result of appeal in the High Court
at Wellington on the 18th day of August 2011, it was ordered as follows:
That the appeal against the decision of the Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal dated the
7th day of February 2011 be dismissed.
