Vessel Monitoring Systems Circular - Notification of Port of Call

This circular, issued under Regulation 4 of the Fisheries (Satellite Vessel Monitoring) Regulations 1993
("the Regulations"), requires the master of every vessel which is required by Regulation 3 of the Regulations
to carry and operate an automatic location communicator, to notify the Fisheries Communication Centre of the intention to proceed to port no later than 48 hours prior to arrival.
This circular shall come into force on 4 February 2011.
The notification shall include:
- ship identification;
- identity of the port;
- estimated time of arrival, recorded in hours and minutes according to a 24-hour clock in New Zealand standard time or New Zealand daylight time, whichever is the time being applicable; and
- reason for the port call.
