Under section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Greymouth High School Board of Trustees.
The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:
- All the functions, powers and duties of the board as employer (whether statutory of otherwise); and
- all the functions, powers and duties of the board in curriculum management and student achievement, including teaching and assessment practice (whether statutory or otherwise).
A limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:
- General matters of governance and the effective functioning of the board;
- systems and processes for self-review and strategic planning; and
- health and safety matters especially in relation to attendance and Education Outside of the Classroom (EOTC).
This notice takes effect on the day of publication.
