Southern Rural Fire District Constitution and Administration Notice 2003, Amendment No. 1

Pursuant to sections 4(1) and 8(1) of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the National Rural Fire Authority hereby makes the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Title and commencement-(1) This notice may be cited as the Southern Rural Fire District Constitution and Administration Notice 2003, Amendment No. 1.
(2) This notice will come into force on the 28th day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
2. Amendment of Southern Rural Fire District Constitution and Administration Notice 2003-(1) The principal notice published in the New Zealand Gazette,
10 July 2003, No. 78, page 2074, is hereby amended by revoking subclause 4(2) of the notice and substituting it with the following:
"(2) The committee shall consist of nine members as follows:
(a) Two persons appointed in writing, by the Southland District Council, for a term of three years, under the signature of its chief executive;
(b) one person appointed in writing, by the Gore District Council, for a term of three years, under the signature of its chief executive;
(c) one person appointed in writing, by the Invercargill City Council, for a term of three years, under the signature of its chief executive;
(d) two persons appointed in writing, for a term of
three years, under the signature of the chief executives; of Rayonier Asia Pacific Limited, Ernslaw One Limited, Craigpine Timber
Limited, Southwood Export Limited and Blakely Pacific Limited, after such consultation as the chief executives consider appropriate;
(e) one person appointed in writing, for a term of
three years, by the Department of Conservation under the signature of its director-general;
(f) one person appointed in writing, for a term of
three years, by the New Zealand Fire Service under the signature of its chief executive; and
(g) one person appointed by the committee for a term of two years, as an independent member with recognised governance experience."
(2) This clause shall be read together with and deemed to be part of the principal notice.
