Pursuant to section 79(5) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 ("HSNO Act"), the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) advises that it approved on
22 August 2011, the Code of Practice HSNOCOP 53 version 1.0 Compressed Gas Cylinder Fittings Standards.
This code has been developed by the EPA and provides standards for the design and construction of fittings for compressed gas cylinders.
It is a means of compliance with Regulations 27(1)(f), 27(2)(e), 28(1)(c), 28(2)(d), 28(3)(c), 29(1)(c), 29(2)(d), 30(1)(c), 30(2)(c), 31(d), 32(e), 33(c), 34(1)(c)(iii) and 34(2)(b) of the Hazardous Substances (Compressed Gases) Regulations 2004.
Pursuant to section 80(1) of the HSNO Act, this code may be inspected on request at the Wellington office of the Environmental Protection Authority, Level 1, BP House,
20 Customhouse Quay, Wellington.
