Notification of Call for a Standard Terms Proposal From Telecom for Chorus’s Unbundled Copper Low Frequency Service Under the Telecommunications Act 2001

Pursuant to section 30F of the Telecommunications Act 2001 ("the Act"), the Commerce Commission ("the Commission") gives public notice that it has given a written notice to Telecom Corporation of New Zealand Limited requiring it to submit a standard terms proposal in respect of Chorus’s unbundled copper low frequency service ("UCLFS").
The UCLFS is described in subpart 1, Part 2 of Schedule 1 of the Act as:
"A service (and its associated functions, including the associated functions of operational support systems) that enables access to, and interconnection with, the
low frequency (being the frequency band between 300 and 3400 Hz) in Chorus’s copper local loop network (including any relevant line in Chorus’s local telephone exchange or distribution cabinet) that connects the
end-user’s building (or, where relevant, the building’s distribution frame) to the handover point in Chorus’s local telephone exchange."
According to the notice, Telecom must submit to the Commission a standard terms proposal in respect of
the UCLFS by 28 July 2011.
