1. Pursuant to section 38(3)(b) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 ("Act"), the Electricity Authority ("Authority") gives notice of the making of the Electricity Industry Participation (Transmission Pricing) Code Amendment 2011.
2. The amendment comes into force on 1 June 2011.
3. The amendment removes the transmission pricing principles and the associated interpretation provision from the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 ("Code") by repealing clause 12.80, amending clauses 12.79 and 12.81, and by making other consequential and minor amendments to Subpart 4 of Part 12 of the Code.
4. Under the amended subpart, Transpower in developing the transmission pricing methodology, and the Authority in approving the transmission pricing methodology, must assess the transmission pricing methodology against the Authority’s objective in section 15 of the Act.
