Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Conservation Support Manager for the Whanganui Conservancy of the Department of Conservation classifies the reserves described in
the First Schedule as scenic reserve for the purposes specified in section 19(1)(a) of the Act, and classifies the reserve described in the Second Schedule as local purpose (plantation and landscape protection) reserve and further, classifies the reserve described in the Third Schedule as recreation reserve.
