Under the Reserves Act 1977 ("the Act"), the Minister of Conservation ("the Minister") classifies the reserve described in the Schedule as a nature reserve for the purposes specified in section 20 of the Act and, pursuant to section 57(2) of the Act, the Minister declares that access to
this reserve is permitted without permit to carry out the vision and objectives of the Westland Petrel Partnering Agreement which include activities to enhance and restore the biodiversity of the reserve and maintain the supporting infrastructure including the car park, nursery and other buildings and to enable public appreciation of the reserve.
