Pursuant to section 105A of the Education Act 1989,
I hereby approve the following constitution for the Board
of Trustees of Opononi Area School:
- The principal;
- up to four persons appointed by the Minister of Education;
- two parent representatives; and
- one staff representative.
The appointment of a trustee may be for a term not exceeding three years.
Sections 96, 97, 101, 104 and 105 of the Education Act 1989 will apply in respect of the board.
For the first elections of parent representatives and a staff representative, a returning officer will be appointed by the commissioner.
All trustees will take office when the current commissioner’s appointment ends.
This notice takes effect the day after the date of its publication.
