Amendment to the Gambling Act (Class 4 Gambling Equipment) Minimum Standard 2004: Minimum Technical Requirements for Linked Jackpot Systems

The Gambling Act (Class 4 Gambling Equipment) Minimum Standard 2004 has been amended pursuant to sections 326 and 327 of the Gambling Act 2003.
The amendment includes a version 2.0 of the Minimum Technical Requirements for Linked Jackpot Systems and includes:
- a requirement for jackpot prize win amounts to download electronically to the winning gaming machine’s credit meter. This will take effect from 2 December 2010;
- already approved jackpot systems where the win is not downloaded may continue to operate under conditions until midnight on 1 December 2015; and
- the Minimum Technical Requirements for Linked Jackpot System Version 1 of the Gambling Act (Class 4 Gambling Equipment) Minimum Standard 2004 is revoked.
These amendments will take effect from 2 December 2010.
