Notice Declaring Clean Zones and Clean Periods for the 2010 World Rowing Championships

In accordance with section 16(1) of the Major Events Management Act 2007 ("the Act"), the Minister for Economic Development gives the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Commencement and purpose-This notice, which comes into force on the day of its notification in the
New Zealand Gazette, declares a clean zone, clean transport route and clean period, pursuant to section 16(1) of the Act, for the World Rowing Championships 2010.
2. World Rowing Championships clean zone-The following areas are declared to be a clean zone:
(a) The area of Lake Karapiro comprising zones 3, 4, 5 and 6 as shown in map 18.1 in Schedule 1.18 of the Waikato Regional Council Navigation Safety Bylaw 2009; and
(b) The Mighty River Domain at Lake Karapiro, located between Maungatautari Road and the western shore
of Lake Karapiro approximately 10km south-east of Cambridge within the Waipa District.
3. World Rowing Championships clean transport route-State Highway 1 is declared to be a clean transport route from the point that is 5km in a straight line (in a
north-westerly direction) from the north-western most point of the boundary of the clean zone described in section 2, to the point that is 5km in a straight line (in an easterly direction) from the easternmost point of the clean zone declared in section 2.
4. World Rowing Championships clean period-The clean period for the clean zone declared in section 2 and
the clean transport route declared in section 3 starts at 12.01am on Wednesday 27 October 2010 and finishes
at 11.59pm on Sunday 7 November 2010.
5. Excluded land and buildings-For the avoidance
of doubt, the clean zone and clean transport route declared in clauses 2 and 3 do not include any excluded land or buildings, as defined in section 16(5) of the Act.
