Notice that the Secretary of Labour has asked the Minister to revoke two approved codes of practice pursuant to section 20(1)(b) of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992.
The two approved codes of practice are:
1. Approved Code of Practice for the Design, Manufacture, Supply, Safe Operation, Maintenance and Inspection of Cranes (first edition, published 2001).
2. Approved Code of Practice for the Design, Manufacture, Supply, Safe Operation, Maintenance and Inspection of Cranes (second edition, published 2007).
The two codes have been superseded by the third edition
of the Approved Code of Practice for Cranes (published
10 January 2010).
The Department of Labour will consult with industry and the public regarding matters surrounding the revocation
of the first and second editions of the Approved Code of Practice for Cranes.

The consultation period for the proposal to revoke the approved codes of practice closes on Thursday 10 June 2010.
